1. You have purchased a paid domain and is closing your blogspot account
2. You have too many blogs and decided to close some.
So don't waste the traffic by just closing in. Perform this redirection, so your existing traffic will reach your new destination, the new paid domain url or your existing blogspot which you decided to keep. Dont make your loyal visitor thought that you "are dead" because they dont find any update in your blog for sooooo long.
So, this coding is to be inserted inside the HTML template, although is only a single line and frea*ingly simple, always be reminded to perform the backup (I will write this one soon too). You can always go back if anything dont go well - it not necessarily because you are not brilliant, but can be as simple as a non-technical reason like you spilled you coffee on your laptop and suddenly there is no electricity :)
I dont know if this code can be implemented someplace else (other than blogspot blogs), but there is no harm to try - always create a testing account so you can freely test around.
